WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY-Revitalization efforts are moving forward in Williamsport.
The mayor announcing on Thursday the addition of a new hotel.
It's a 92-room "Holiday Inn Express" right next to the current hotel.
The five-million dollar project will double the size of the complex.
Downtown business owners hope the expansion will bring them more customers.. and improve the overall economy of the city.
"This is a great way for the mayor to start off his new term here in Williamsport. " says Lorena Beniquez, Economic Development Coordinator, "We feel that this is one of the elements we really needed. With our downtown theater going in and now this whole project, and there'll be many more to be announced, we're hoping that our success may mirror some of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton's success."

Work on the new "Holiday Inn Express" is expected to begin this summer -- and wrap up in the spring of 2009.
