Williamsport, Lycoming County-

A Williamsport man who led police on a high speed chase two weeks ago was arrested Wednesday in the city.

During the chase on June 12th, police say 21-year-old Alphonso Batten Jr. drove dangerously in an area where children were playing.

Officers spotted batten walking in the city Wednesday around noon. He ran into a house at the corner of 1st and Campbell Streets.

Batten then engaged in a standoff with police for about an hour before being arrested.

He’s charged with fleeing from police, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
