Wind Knocks Over Tree, Detours Traffic - Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 5:15PM EST

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY -- A windy fall day caused some problems along North Street here.

People say a gust of wind snapped a tree. It fell onto utility wires, knocking out power to some nearby homes and apartment. The transformer dangled by a couple wires over a car. Traffic was detoured away from the street for several hours.

We talked to the owner, Bloomsburg University senior Brynn Sheehan of Lancaster. She says she was just cited for her inspection being overdue last week. She joked about the situation, saying she hoped she didn't pay for an up-keep for nothing.

Police told us later in the afternoon that no major damage occurred.
