WINTER WEATHER -- Eyewitness News was on the scene of a handful of accidents in Lackawanna County, as crews were running out of people and vehicles to respond.

A Trans-Med ambulance was heading north on Interstate 81 in Dunmore when the driver lost control on a bridge that had frozen over. The ambulance ended up on its side. A patient was inside the vehicle, but that person and two emergency responders inside were not hurt in the crash.

"We have car accidents everywhere. People are falling, ambulances are rolling over. It's just a mess," said Scranton Fire Department's Acting Assistant Chief, Mark Schultz. "There aren't enough ambulances on the road today. That's how busy it is."

Another rollover along the North Scranton Expressway slowed traffic down to one lane southbound. And a car trying to drive up the hill on Orchard Street in the city slid back into a parked vehicle, causing a lot of damage. Then the tow truck that came for the car, ended up sliding down the road and needing help.

In Bloomsburg, a police cruiser was hit as the officer driving was responding to four separate accidents that happened within seconds of one another.

On our downtown Stroudsburg camera, we found traffic backed up, with both ambulances and plows trying to weave their way through traffic.
