Woman Accused of Stealing From Nursing Home - Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 5:25PM EST

ORWIGSBURG, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- The former administrator of a Schuylkill County personal care home will go to trial on theft charges. Sharon Haley was in district court Tuesday morning.
Police say the 55-year-old stole nearly $9,000 from the Pinebrook Personal Care Center in Orwigsburg. According to court papers, Haley wrote checks from the residents' "Trust Fund" bank account.

Neighbors of the facility are shocked. Neighbor Ralph Ascione said, “When we think of the personal care center, we think of her because of all the things she was able to implement and do for the good of the people that needed those services."

Haley worked at the personal care home for nearly 17 years. She was administrator for less than two years.
