FRANKLIN TWP., SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY- State Police are investigating the beating death of a Lackawanna County woman Saturday evening. A white female in her 30s was found unconscious at an apartment in Franklin Forks.

Police got the call from a neighbor around 6:30 P. M., near Snake Creek along Route 29. It’s unclear what weapon was used to fatally beat the victim.

Troopers tell Eyewitness News they're also still searching for a suspect. Trooper Connie Devens said, "We're interviewing anyone who may have had contact with the female prior to her death to gather as much information as we possibly can.”

The victim's name is being withheld until her family is notified. Anyone with any information should contact State Police at Gibson by calling 465-3154.
