SUGARLOAF TWP, LUZERNE COUNTY -A hostage situation in Sugarloaf Township has ended. Crews were called to Cindy Drive in the LaRock Estates just before 10 Friday night.

Police say a man was holding a woman hostage and gun shots could be heard. Apparently the woman was able to get out of the house safely. Her reported husband is now in police custody. Neighbors phoned WBRE Eyewitness News to say they spent the duration of the standoff on their bedroom floor. There are no reported injuries.
