RUSH TWP., MONROE COUNTY Ð A woman in the Poconos was mauled to death by a bear late Sunday afternoon.

Eyewitness News was first to tell you about the attack on Eyewitness News at 6 Sunday evening.

It happened around 5:00 P. M. on Dogwood Lane in Ross Township, near Saylorsburg.

37-year-old Kelly Walz was trying to feed a 350-pound black bear and clean its enclosure. That's when the bear attacked, killing the woman.

State police at Lehighton are investigating.
