LEWISBURG, UNION COUNTY- A Middleburg woman pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing from a Union County fire company.
Joyce Bingaman served as treasurer of the Union County West End Fire Company. Investigators say she forged checks and embezzled more than $37,000 from the fire company.

The alleged thefts occurred over a one year period starting in 2006. Bingaman is scheduled to be sentenced sometime in March.
