SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A worker had to be rescued after becoming trapped during a construction accident in Scranton.

A concrete slab fell off its jack and onto the worker trapping him underneath the sidewalk. The accident happened at 10:30 this morning next to the Affa Gallery in the 500 block of Lackawanna Avenue.

Scranton Public Safety Director Ray Hayes said, "There are still areas of the city where there are vaults under the city and what they are doing now is filling some of those vault."

The worker is said to be a man in his mid-30s and works for Spano's Construction. He is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
