Worker Slashed In Restaurant Robbery - Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:30PM EST
PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY- Main Street was wall-to-wall cars when investigators say two men stormed LaFratte's restaurant. It was rush hour. The lone worker in the eatery attempted to fight off the men, who police say were trying to rip out the cash register. Detectives say the unidentified male employee was slashed on the right forearm and shoulder. He was treated and released at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, receiving stitches for lacerations.
Police say one of the robbers in this case, described as a black man wearing an orange shirt, black jeans and tan boots, matches the description of suspect in a West Pittston robbery case on Thanksgiving. There, detectives say a woman was held-up at gunpoint at the Bank of America at Wyoming and Luzerne Avenues. Investigators tell Eyewitness News the robber in today's case had help from an accomplice. He's described a white man with blonde hair and a dirty blonde beard. Police say he was wearing a white hat, blue jeans, black shoes. If you have any information, you're asked to call 911. | |
