TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY - A Wyoming County woman, who admitted causing the death of her son two years ago, is going to prison. Sara Kintner learned her fate Wednesday morning. The sentence is not sitting well with everyone.

Kintner pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges in connection with the death of her three-month-old son in January. She was sentenced to between two years and nearly five years behind bars.

"It's not right," Chad Watson said right after the sentencing. Watson is the father of the baby.

"I don't know. She took everything away from me," when asked why.

Kintner admitted to unintentionally hitting the baby on the head during a bath. She said he would not stop crying. It happened at her home in Washington Township.

"You don't hit a baby unintentionally. I just can't... it just throws me for a loop," Stacey Hunsinger, the victim's grandmother said.

Before being sentenced, Kintner couldn't hold back tears as she told the judge how the death of her son has changed her life. She says it still haunts her everyday.

"Oh, her crocodile tears. I've seen those 100 times, she is not remorseful," Hunsinger said.

Due to the sentence, Kintner will be eligible for parole this July. That's just five months away.

"It's a higher sentence than we hoped for her, but we've very greatful that the judge sought to keep her at the Wyoming County Prison," defense attorney Demetrius Fannick said.

The father of the young baby says he'll petition the court to make sure Kintner doesn't get out anytime soon. He says it's the least he can do for his son.

"He was everything to me. He just, I don't know. I've got to stop," Watson said.

Kintner was originally charged with both first-and-third degree murder. If convicted on all charges, she could have faced life in prison.
