STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - Eyewitness News is helping the Pocono Family YMCA raise money and educate people about fitness. Eyewitness News Reporter Laurie Monteforte is facing off against Pocono Record reporter Melanie Vanderveer in the Adventure.

The two will work with personal trainers for eight weeks. They will work on endurance, strength training and healthy eating. They will track their progress using body measurements.

The event will wrap up with a community fund raiser on September 20th at Stroudsburg high school. All money raised will go to a YMCA scholarship fund that provides memberships to people who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

Event participants can join their favorite reporter's team and walk or run laps. The team that racks up the most laps wins even more money for the Y.
