POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY- Some people are taking desperate measures to sell their homes in this tough real estate market. Pocono realtors tell us it's taking several months longer than normal to sell homes. But one woman in Monroe County doesn't want to wait. She's practically giving away her $350,000 dollar house.

The house sits on a one acre lot in Tannersville. It has four bedrooms, a pool, and lots of other nice features such as a Jacuzzi tub. Like thousands of other homes in the Poconos it's for sale.

In this tough real estate market most houses sell cheap. But not nearly as cheap as this one. It can be yours for $325.00 dollars.

Home owner Patty Tomsky explained "We said what can we do different. My husband actually came up with the idea. It was a very exciting idea. So we thought it over and we said ‘Hmm let's give it a try.’ "

Patty Tomsky is trying a contest. She will take 1,000 entries. You pay $325 dollars to get involved.

To enter the contest just simply follow the link to the website and write a paragraph about why you deserve the place.

Patty Tomsky continued "I will pick the winning paragraph, because you have to write a paragraph, and someone will win my house."

Patty will choose the winner carefully because she loves this house.

Her son Jack Henry has never lived anywhere else.

"If we didn't have the business opportunity in Colorado I'd still be here" declared Tomsky.

The family bought a business in Colorado several months ago. Patty's husband is already there, so she wants to sell the house fast. Especially because Jack Henry misses his dad.

The family's realtor, Jennifer Hinds-Clarke, is excited about the plan. She's never tried anything like this before. She explained "It’s very unique. It's something we've never heard before or have ever tried before. But you know Patty had a great idea and I thought why not, let's try it and see what happens."

You can enter through June 30th. All of the entry money will go to an escrow account at Smith-Ford business lawyers in Wilkes-Barre . That firm is managing the contest.
