Recipe Tomato Sauce with Sausage (Pasta)

Required Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 pounds Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped garlic
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 (28 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chopped fresh basil
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparing/Cooking:
- In a large saucepan heat oil and saute sausage until brown, about 6 minutes.
- Add onion and garlic to pot and saute about 8 minutes.
- Mix in tomato paste, tomatoes, water and basil.
- Bring to a boil.
- Break up tomatoes.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until thickened, about 45 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
